Made for More

Have you ever wondered what your true calling in life is? What you were born or made to do?

Perhaps you’ve found your niche professionally. You have a job you love and really achieve in your role. Maybe you aren’t currently in that place, but you are in the pursuit of it. Maybe your dream job is still just that, a dream.
Whether you feel as though you are doing what you were made to do and thriving, or you feel as though you’ve fallen short and are disappointed, let me assure you that you were made for more.

And what about personally? Do you have the ideal spouse, 2.5 kids, a grand home with a pool in the backyard and new vehicles in the front, and everything your heart could wish? Or do you feel jilted and overlooked as your dreams of fill-in-the-blank slip through your fingers like grains of sand? Either way, trust me, you were made for more.

I know a few people who seem as though they have they the perfect life. Everything just appears to work out perfectly for them. They give the impression that nothing goes wrong and they are living the life they were made to live. I know I’m not in their homes at night, but it isn’t a stretch to assume things are not always what they appear to be. So, before you fall into the trap of comparing your life and experiences with someone else, just remember that you were made for more.

If all your dreams suddenly came true and everything you ever desired was laid at your feet on a silver platter, what then? Sure, you may be satisfied for a little while, but it wouldn’t last. Why? Because you were made for more.

Well, what is the “more” that we were made to do?

Contrary to the world’s philosophies, we weren’t made to be rich or powerful or successful. We weren’t made to be husbands or wives or parents. We weren’t made to be confident or independent or even happy.

We were made to glorify and enjoy God.

Only when we embrace our role and do what we were actually created to do will we find the joy and peace and contentment our hearts are searching for…whether our dreams become realities or not. When our enjoyment comes from the Lord, all those other things suddenly seem so unimportant.

We weren’t made to set up our own happy little kingdom. We were made to worship and serve and love the King.

Are you doing what you were made to do?

🎶 All want their lives to count for something, to leave their mark when life is through, but vain pursuits will count for nothing. Time will erase what ere we do.

I want my life to count for Jesus for earthly things will quickly fade. No need to add to worldly riches; I only seek eternal gain.

Inside my heart there burned a question: What was I placed on earth here for? It truly was to build a Kingdom, not of my own, but of the Lord’s.

I want my life to count for Jesus for earthly things will quickly fade. No need to add to worldly riches; I only seek eternal gain. 🎶
